Alpa Books is a specialised sales and marketing company dedicated to providing a first class service for selling and marketing books into the Australian market. Concentrating on representing a limited number of key publisher clients, Alpa Books offers a hands on approach in all aspects of sales and marketing. Because we only represent a small number of publisher clients we can ensure that all of your books will be properly presented to all prospective customers.

Headed by Andrew Easton, who has over 30 years of experience in the Australian Book Trade, Alpa Books draws on experienced people to assist with all aspects of the business.

Sales & Marketing

Alpa Books can look after your sales needs across all market sectors. Representation to major accounts is carried out by the principal, Andrew Easton. Sales to independent bookshops is handled by a team of sales agents handpicked for their knowledge and professionalism.

Because Alpa Books concentrates on a limited number of publisher clients we ensure that our sales team are equipped with the best sales material for every title. We create individual Advanced Information sheets which provide our customers with the necessary information to make the correct purchasing decision.

Alpa Books provides marketing support to all publisher clients. This support can be for an individual title, a range or a new line promotion.

Alpa Books believe that good publicity is essential in driving customers to bookstores to purchase books. The main vehicle is a monthly publicity bulletin highlighting all major titles for the forthcoming months. Additional targeted publicity is carried out on selected titles.

 Distribution        

Alpa Books has contracted Macmillan Distribution Services (MDS) for all order fulfilment. MDS operates a modern, pick to light warehouse facility in Melbourne supported by a comprehensive Customer Service Department.

MDS provides a full suite of IT solutions for dealing with major accounts and supplies daily price & availability information to the industry based TitlePage web site as well as regular udates to on line retailers.

A comprehensive reporting package is available to publishers to monitor sales by title and retail channel.
